At South Kent School, the spirit of leadership is embodied in the Student Body Government, where Prefects are elected annually by students and faculty to serve as the stewards of the student body. Prefects at South Kent School assume multifaceted roles that encompass both administrative responsibilities and leadership by example. Mediating and Mentoring
In addition to their representational duties, Prefects play a crucial role in mediating Senior Council meetings and leading all-school gatherings when applicable. Special Responsibilities of the Sacristan
Within the Student Body Government, a special role exists for the Sacristan, who assists the Chaplain in making the chapel a welcoming and dignified space for students and faculty alike. As representatives of the chapel program, Sacristans participate in the Student Council, conveying the concerns and aspirations of the student body to the Chaplain. They work closely with the student vestry to plan Chapel services, ensuring that these spiritual gatherings resonate with the school community.
