Admissions FAQs
What is South Kent School looking for in a prospective student?
In addition to being able to find success in our curriculum, we are looking for individuals who have the desire and ability to be contributing members within our community.
One of the greatest aspects of South Kent is that we are a small school with a broad range of opportunities. As such, we are always seeking young men who not only have the desire to pursue those passions they had upon entering our community, but a willingness to explore new opportunities and develop new interests.
Do I need to complete my application before my campus tour and interview?
No, you do not need to fill out an application before visiting campus. We’d love to meet you! Call the Admissions Office at (860) 927-3539 ext 201 to schedule a campus visit and interview. A campus visit lasts about two hours and includes a student-led tour and an interview with a member of our admission staff. Campus tours are scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
What should I expect from the interview process?
If you visit our campus in person, one of our admission officers will first meet with the student and following that conversation, the admission officer will spend some time speaking with the prospective student’s parent(s)/guardian(s).
The intent of our interview is to learn more about the prospective student and his family. While the application materials will provide us with information about your academic performance and recommendations from teachers, the interview is a chance for us to learn about those things that will not be included in the application materials you submit.
Our interviews are also meant to provide prospective students and their families with the opportunity to learn more about South Kent South and our community.
When are applications due?
Applications are due by January 15, 2024.
Will South Kent School accept applications after the deadline?
If space is available following the first round of admission decisions being delivered on March 10, we will continue to accept applications.
How much does it cost to apply to South Kent School?
Our application fee is $75 for domestic students and $125 for international students.

What kind of academic support do you have for students?
South Kent School recognizes that students thrive in different academic environments. The Student Success Center is a support program for students who require extra help with their college-bound curriculum. The Center’s faculty and tutoring staff individualize learning plans that empower students to practice toward the next level of skill development. South Kent’s Student Success programming complements classroom study with specific help in regular courses for the students who participate. The Student Success Center is available to all students during their free blocks, required study time, and beyond school hours for structured one-on-one or small-group assistance.
