Three SKS Alumni Make the NCAA Soccer College Cup!

Three SKS Alumni just made the NCAA Soccer College Cup with the Marshall University Herd! Vinicius Fernandes ’18, Alexander Adjetey ’19, and Alejandro Giner Murillo ’20, advanced to the Division 1 Final Four with the Marshall University Men’s Soccer team after they defeated defending champs Georgetown University in the Elite 8 and #1 ranked Clemson University in the previous round.

Along with these three players on the team already, we are excited to have two more alumni, Mohammed Seidu ’21 and Kymani McNeil ’21, joining the Marshall University Men’s Soccer team next fall.

South Kent School Head Soccer coach Owen Finberg shared, “It is an amazing accomplishment to reach the Division I College Cup and a testament to the program that Coach Grassie has built at Marshall University.  For South Kent to have three players involved in this historic feat shows that our program is not just developing top players but also leaders and winners.  Vini, for the last three years, and now Alex and Alejandro, have helped establish the Thundering Herd as a top team around the country.  We are all rooting for these guys to bring home two more wins and the ultimate prize!”

Marshall has also earned back to back Conference USA championships the past two seasons.  Members of South Kent’s Class of 2021, Kymani McNeil and Mohammed Seidu will join our other alumni with the Thundering Herd next fall, strengthening an already strong connection.
