Give With Cryptocurrency
South Kent School is excited to announce that it now has the capability to accept cryptocurrency for your charitable giving in 2024. Cryptocurrency, often referred to as “crypto,” is a decentralized form of digital currency built on blockchain technology. It operates independently of traditional financial institutions such as governments or banks, offering secure and transparent transactions. Parent Giving
The South Kent Fund is vitally important as it provides unrestricted financial support for all costs associated with the operation of the school in a given year, including:
- Need Based Financial Aid
- Faculty Compensation and Professional Development
- Athletics
- Student Activities and Clubs
- Facilities Maintenance
- Health Services
It helps to bridge the gap between the actual cost of educating a South Kent student, $70,000, and what is brought in through tuition and fees. The more robust the South Kent Fund is, the more it can enhance the quality of the educational experience of each and every student.
We urge you to join the ranks of those who have so faithfully supported the South Kent Fund with regular, sustained and increased giving over the years. The need for expanded Annual Giving support has never been more critical.
Planned Gifts
Making a planned gift is a special way to support the school, especially if it is made to our endowment because it allows you to donate assets yet defer the time South Kent actually receives them. Advantages of planned gifts include:

Gifts of Securities
You may find that you can give more to South Kent School at less cost to you by contributing securities that are worth more now than when you bought them. For appreciated securities, a benefit to the donor is to the avoidance of capital gains tax. If you have depreciated securities, it may be to your advantage to sell your securities and give the proceeds to South Kent School. You receive the charitable deduction for the cash gift and may be eligible for a capital loss.
