Parent Ambassadors
Meet Chair of the SKSPA Steve Quinones and the dedicated Parent Ambassadors of South Kent School and experienced families who are here to help welcome, guide, and support our parent community. We hope you will take this opportunity to learn more about these cherished volunteers and discover how the South Kent School Parent Association (SKSPA) engages directly with families, empowering them throughout the year.
Steve Quinones
Bio: Living in Bedford, NH, Steve is currently the Director of Human Resources for a transportation company. Originally from upstate New York, he found his way to New England for college and never left (except for a brief stint in Colorado). Steve and his wife Kristy have three boys—two of whom graduated from South Kent School. Their third son plays professional soccer.
Reflection: “What I love most about SKS is the way they develop boys into young men. Teaching them to be independent but at the same time helping them recognize that they have a brotherhood they can lean on.”
Erika Rapp McQuade
Bio: A lifelong Long Islander, Erika lives there with her husband and their three teenage children. She works in New York City as Vice President of Merchandising for Ann Taylor Factory. Outside of work, she enjoys running, singing, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her family. She also serves as President of her church council, a role that allows her to support the congregation and give back to the community.
Reflection: “When our son Brett began exploring high school options, prep school wasn’t something we had initially considered. But after discovering South Kent School—its strong sense of community, commitment to core values, and the meaningful presence of God woven into campus life—we knew it was the right choice. Combined with its outstanding hockey program, South Kent became the perfect fit for Brett—nurturing his growth both on and off the ice.”
Dr. Norman Turkowitz
Bio: Dr. Norman Turkowitz is a practicing dentist in New York City. His eldest son is a proud graduate of SKS, and his younger son, David, will be joining the school community this year. He welcomes questions from prospective and current families.
Reflection: “The integrity of this institution is truly unparalleled. From Mr. Sullivan and the administrative team to the athletic program, I am confident that SKS provides an exceptional environment—one that cultivates character, leadership, and the highest personal values in young men.”
