Named for Dr. Martin A. Henry, the School’s first librarian who championed the cause for a separate library building, the School’s original library was situated on the third floor of the Old Building. This space, however, was soon transformed with the dedication of a ne library on November 20, 1955. Reflecting the enduring legacy of Dr. Henry’s contributions, the library was formally named in his honor during a ceremony held in October of 1986.
Today, the Martin A. Henry Building serves as a cornerstone of student success, providing essential resources and support systems that empower students to reach their full potential. As South Kent School continues to prioritize the well-being of its students and community members, the Martin A. Henry Building continues to play a vital role. Through the dedication of our exceptional Health Center team, the building stands as a beacon of holistic care, ensuring that every individual has the resources and support they need to flourish academically, socially, personally.
