South Kent School Launches First-Ever All School Media Day

We are thrilled to announce South Kent School’s first-ever All School Media Day, organized by the students of the Advanced Media Group (AMG)! Mark your calendars for Monday, October 21st, when the entire school community comes together for an evening of creativity and fun. Inspired by media days at colleges and professional sports teams, this event gives students the chance to capture memorable, lighthearted moments with friends, teammates, and faculty using props like team uniforms, sports equipment, and even personal accessories.

Parents can get involved too by encouraging their students to bring fun props—flags, accessories, or anything that adds a personal touch. From solo shots to group poses, Media Day promises to be a lively celebration of school spirit, diversity, and friendship.

But there’s more to this event than just photos. Media Day provides students with hands-on experience in media production, where AMG students will gain valuable skills in modern tools such as Photoshop, Canva, and AI. These photos will fuel engaging social media posts, graphics, and promotional materials for the school.

The idea for Media Day emerged in an AMG meeting, and after receiving enthusiastic support from school leadership, it has become a new, exciting tradition at South Kent. This event is just one of many ways South Kent School promotes experiential learning, encouraging students to expand their skills beyond the classroom in fun, innovative ways.

We can’t wait to see the creativity and excitement on display as Media Day brings our school community closer together!
