Alumni and Friends of South Kent join us on the Hillside! Families and K-8th graders are invited to join us on Sunday, September 28th for South Kent School’s Community Day, a special event created for local families, alumni, and friends to experience the energy, spirit, and innovation of life on the Hillside.
These interactive mornings are designed for elementary and middle school grade children, offering a fun, hands-on experience at South Kent School . Whether you’re exploring future school options, an alumnus introducing your family to your alma mater, or a neighbor curious about campus you’re invited!

What to Expect:
Community Days are a mix of tours, clinics, and interactive stations across campus. Families will move through a series of engaging, 15-minute activities—from drone flying and science experiments to art, hockey, and soccer. South Kent students and faculty will lead the way, sharing what makes SKS such a unique and inspiring place to learn and grow.
- Conduct a science experiment in the STEM building
- Try basketball at Brown Gymnasium
- Try a green screen in our digital arts studio
- Explore hockey at Admiral Stockdale Arena
- Play on the pitch with our soccer at Farr Field
- Go behind-the-scenes of a live SKS broadcast

Parents are encouraged to stop by the Admissions Office for a cup of coffee or experience the full day alongside their children.

As a proud and collaborative member of the Kent Community, South Kent School is committed to offering Community Days throughout the year, centered around sporting events like Soccer and Basketball (Soccer Community Day). Beyond athletics, South Kent has long hosted Thriller at Halloween for nearly 20 years (watch here), supported Kent Park & Rec activities, participated in the Parade of Lights , and led the annual SKS Feeds the Need initiative to benefit the local food bank. Additionally, South Kent has upheld a 30-year tradition of local community service spearheaded by Reverend Steve Klots.
