Peter M. Pirnie ’50


Peter M. Pirnie, 92, who served The Chase Manhattan Bank for 37 years – including posts in London, Brussels, Kuwait and Liberia – died on November 17, 2024, in Woodstock, GA.

A Massachusetts native, he attended South Kent School and graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine in 1955. He became a captain in the U.S. Army and served in France for eight years before joining Chase. 

After his retirement from the Bank, he went on to work for USAID in Washington, D.C. for another 22 years. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Pollard Pirnie. They met when they were both working at Chase in New York City in 1963.
