Joseph Foote ’50


Joseph Foote, born on October 26, 1932, in New York City, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 22, 2024, in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Raised in Deerpath, Bristol, New Hampshire, Joseph’s early education was at South Kent School, followed by his graduation from Williams College.
He furthered his education by earning a Master’s degree in Law from Harvard University. Joseph served his country in Germany shortly after World War II, a testament to his patriotism and commitment. His professional career was primarily based in Washington, D.C., where he made significant contributions as a reporter and a writer, until his retirement to Sandwich.

He was predeceased by his father, Don Carlos, his mother Evelyn, his brother Don, and his beloved partner, Dorna Allen.

Joseph will be remembered for his intellect, kindness, and the profound impact he had on those who knew him. His memory will be cherished by family, friends, and colleagues alike.

In accordance with his wishes no formal services will be held. His final resting place will be Homeland Cemetery, Bristol, N.H.
