South Kent School gives ample attention to students in their Fifth and Sixth Form years to find the best match between student and college. The college counseling staff works with boys in individual and group meetings, and offers guidance through the entire college admissions process. Our Fifth Formers are encouraged to meet with representatives of colleges and universities who visit us in the fall and spring. Regular meetings are scheduled with the Director of College Counseling, both in groups and individually. Simultaneously, correspondence and meetings with parents are occurring during the year. We believe that the process of selecting college is best achieved by a partnership among the family, the school and the boy. We help each student develop the confidence to find the right school for him and to complete the process successfully. When he leaves our Hillside, we want him to be fully comfortable with what he is doing and where he is going. Over the years, this process has given our graduates the strength and self-confidence to make college work for them.
