The Hillside has been buzzing with some exciting facility upgrades and campus improvements. The first big project was to repave all walkways and install five-foot sidewalks across campus. The lower tennis courts have been removed and seeded with grass to create a new open space to be used for special events and student activities. The upper tennis courts have been resurfaced and fenced and will be transformed into a multi-sport space featuring two tennis courts, a basketball court, street hockey area, and beach volleyball area for students to enjoy year-round.
Joseph J. Brown Gymnasium is getting fresh paint on the basketball court, new carpet in the lobby, new flooring in the locker rooms, and air conditioning installed in the gym. The student living spaces will be getting a major upgrade with new paint and flooring going into the dormitories. New furniture will be put in McCoun, Fieldhouse and Brown dormitories and air conditioning installations and bathroom upgrades will take place in McCoun and Brown dormitories. The Elizabeth Bringhurst building will be getting two new art studio spaces, and the current art space in the McCoun building will be converted into a student center later this fall.
The School will also be finalizing solar panel installations on The Admiral James and Sybil Stockdale Arena and behind Gilder Hall dormitory. We look forward to sharing all these wonderful improvements in person during your next campus visit to the Hillside.
