Miguel Carneiro ’11

Miguel Carneiro is a 2011 graduate of South Kent School, as he previously went to New Milford High School. Originally from Brazil, Carneiro loved the game of soccer from a young age. Since he was a player who excelled right away, he earned himself the opportunity to become a scholarship athlete at South Kent.

He fit into the culture at South Kent instantly, propelling him onto the collegiate soccer scene. After getting interest from many schools, Miguel Carneiro signed with the University of Southern New Hampshire Penmen. As his freshmen year began, Carneiro’s hard work in high school with the Cardinals came to fruition, as he was a Northeast-10 Third Team All-Conference and Northeast-10 All-Rookie selection, totaling 8 points. Carneiro built upon his success during his junior year by being nominated to the Northeast-10 Second Team All-Conference team, scoring three goals on three assists. The most notable memory of this season included the opening goal of the Division II National Championship, which they would later win in penalty kicks. Carneiro’s steady improvement continued in his senior year, earning First Team honors and having three goals on nine assists.

Miguel Carneiro finished his soccer career playing with the Elm City Express, as he now works as a Financial Advisor for Connecticut Wealth Management.
