Jake Ryczek was born and raised in Springfield, MA, about an hour and a half north of South Kent School. After playing youth hockey with the New York Jr. Ryczek joined the Hillside in 2013 to compete with the 16U team. In 26 appearances at South Kent, Jake Ryczek had a total of 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists). Ryczek would play with the red and black for one year before moving on to junior hockey from 2014-17, lacing his skates for the Sioux City Musketeers and the Waterloo Skyhawks. During his time in the USHL, Ryczek tallied 81 points to his name. In 2016, Jake Ryczek was drafted 203rd overall in the 7th round of the draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.
Before pursuing his professional career, Ryczek went to play for Providence College for the 2017-18 season. Since then, he has bounced around to different leagues such as the QMJHL, ECHL, AHL, and the EIHL. Currently, Jake Ryczek is on the Nottingham Panthers.
