Another Cardinal Three-Peat: Lacrosse wins HVAL Title!

“Three-peat” is becoming a buzzword around the South Kent School campus, as Varsity Lacrosse just defeated The Harvey School 9-5 in the HVAL (Housatonic Valley Athletic League) finals! This comes just days after Varsity Baseball also reigned as HVAL champions.

“It feels amazing,” Ben Brady ‘15 said. “It was a great experience being relatively new to Lacrosse, and the fact that we won was made it 10 times sweeter.”

The South Kent Cardinals Lacrosse team has claimed this title for three consecutive years now, having won against Forman School in 2013  and 2014. This year, the fourth ranked South Kent Cardinals defeated first seed Forman School in the semifinals on Wednesday, May 13th, 2015. The championship was held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at The Harvey School in Katonah, NY. Harvey was ranked second for regular season play.

“It’s pretty special to win a championship three years in a row,” Joshua Boyko ‘15 said. “It feels great to end the year with another championship, especially in my last game wearing a South Kent jersey.”

Abel Mickey Watson ‘15 added, “We had a lot of adversities this year, but the boys never quit. That's what separates South Kent from the rest; no matter what the circumstances are, we don't make excuses. We just go out, and fight for our brothers.”

The Cardinals hold a 12-1 overall record: 10-1 in the regular season and 2-0 in playoffs.
