South Kent School is concerned with each boy’s physical, mental and spiritual health. The health-related policies and practices at the School are designed to encourage a healthy environment in which boys can grow and mature.
The South Kent campus has a live-in nurse with office hours Monday through Friday. The School’s physician sees patients during regularly scheduled office hours in the School’s Health Center. The School’s counselor also sees students during scheduled hours. Local specialists are available for consultation, and two nearby hospitals serve the community. All appointments are made through the School Nurse’s office.

All medications, both prescribed and over-the-counter, must be kept in the nurse’s office in the Health Clinic. Medications are dispensed at specified times by the nurse on duty. Students are responsible for visiting the clinic at these times to receive and take their medication(s) according to the prescribed schedule. The Faculty Health Team provides additional health support to students.
This Faculty Health Team meets every week with the School’s counselor to review and discuss various health issues as they pertain to the School in general and individual students in particular.
Magnus Health SMR
South Kent School is partnered with Magnus Health SMR (Student Medical Record), a web-based system that provides a continuous access to a child’s health records, and the ability to make updates as needed. Using Magnus Health ensures that parents and the School have accurate information on hand and also reduces the amount of paperwork parents have to fill out each year. Your child will also have the option to take this information with them after graduation.
A Magnus Health SMR username and password are emailed to parents shortly after enrolment, along with instructions to complete the online health history form. We ask that you enter the required health information no later than July 31. Timely submission of health information is vital in order to prepare for the first day of school.
We encourage you to visit http://magnushealth.com/parents/ and review the welcome packet provided by Magnus Health SMR.
If you did not receive a username and password, please contact Magnus customer service at 877-461-6831 or email them at service.magnushealthportal.com.
