No Regrets

You are here

As I left after our ninth win of the season to head home, I could not have been readier for Christmas break. What I was looking forward to most was a chance to relax, because I felt that I was tired mentally and needed some time to get away from things.

While I was home, I had a great time with my family and friends. I was able to go to an Old Dominion basketball game and also able to see my old high school team play multiple times. My Christmas Day was spent with my mom and brother, watching basketball and enjoying each other's company. We always have great conversations about basketball and life in general. It is amazing to me how much my relationship with my brother has matured over the years. For New Year's, I went to a church event with my former basketball coach. This was the first time that I had experienced a New Year's event like this, so it was great for me.

As my time at home was coming to an end, I began to think about how much things have changed for me in the last few months. When I reflect on the times I questioned if I would make it at South Kent, I am amazed by how much I now feel at home. My goals for this winter term are to continue to do well in the classroom and to give everything I have when I'm playing basketball. Starting January 10th and through February, we have a lot of games, so I know that I need to focus and not let my final high school basketball season pass me by with any regrets.
