Hypnotist Jim Spinnato Entertains Students

Students and faculty at South Kent School were treated to an evening of captivating and entertaining excitement from comedic hypnotist Jim Spinnato on Saturday, September 8, 2012.

From southeastern Connecticut, mentalist and comedian Jim Spinnato presented about an hour and a half long presentation that combined comedy, thought reading and audience participation. He was able to hypnotize student volunteers from the audience in an incredible performance.

Together in the Bringhurst Theatre, the boys were hypnotized into many different scenarios. In some instances they smelled really great, so they were found sniffing each other or to the contrary avoiding each other in the case they smelled bad. They played musical instruments or acted as if they rode a motorcycle, were glued to chairs, were instructed to find a puppy named Fluffy and call for it in a high-pitched voice, some performed as a disco or country dancer, a belly dancer, or walked like a fashionista on a catwalk; however most entertaining was when the boys jumped on Father Klots because they thought he was Angelina Jolie. At one point all the boys were Michael Jackson dancing to “Beat It,” and were hypnotized to believe their favorite actor/celebrity was in the audience.  “One boy was completely overcome to have “met” Jay-Z,” said Cruz Zoeller, director of student activities.

“Our boys have tons of vigor and rhythm,” Zoeller said. “This was a fantastic way to start the school year, we all had a blast and a lot of laughs,” she added.
