Third Form Reads
Third Formers at South Kent School have done an outstanding job at finding a sense of belonging and place within the school community that they are reaching out to local elementary students and sharing their love of reading.
“Third Form Reads” is a program that gives Third Formers an opportunity to reach out into the town of Kent. Weekly, groups of 4-6 students go to the local Kent Center School to read to the Kindergarten classes. ”Reaching out to the local community is a great way for us to work toward our goal of exploration and finding a sense of place and belonging in the community,” said Kelli Darrin, Third Form Dean. “This is also a great way to give back to the community. The boys have been terrific and it is really nice to see the connections between my Third Formers and the elementary students,” she added.
